Tomaree Sports Complex Masterplan Revision
The current Tomaree Sports Complex Masterplan was adopted in 2018. Since then, several major projects have been delivered — including upgrades to Don Waring Field and car parking, construction of the Bruce Scott Pavilion, and drainage works. Additional projects are currently in the planning or construction phase.
To reflect the evolving needs of the community and local sporting groups, the Masterplan is now being revised. This update will incorporate completed and ongoing projects, such as the Bruce Scott Pavilion and infrastructure upgrades, while also planning for future improvements.
As part of this revision, a new Masterplan will be developed with a range of proposed actions. Port Stephens Council is supporting this work through in-kind contributions, including community consultation and concept design support to assist with procurement. The final Masterplan will be prepared by an external consultant and funded by the Tomaree Sports Council.
Project Support and Timeline
The Masterplan revision is supported by a $25,000 contribution from the Tomaree Sports Council, made in response to both current opportunities and constraints — including the consideration of an indoor sports facility, as outlined in the Notice of Motion (see Document Library).
Council will lead early planning, with an external consultant finalising the Masterplan. The project is scheduled for completion within the current financial year, although the timeline may shift based on changes to Council’s meeting schedule in the new year.
