Project overview

The new contemporary designed building will replace the existing amenities. The upgrade will increase participation and accessibility.

The funding for the $2.6 million project has been secured through the NSW Government Regional Sport Facility Fund, NSW Club Grant scheme, Stronger Country Communities Fund and developer contributions.

Yulong Oval Amenities replacement works include:

Demolition of existing amenities
Construction of contemporary and universally designed sports amenities catering for multiple users including the following:
4 x change rooms with 3 x showers and 1x toilet in each
2 x serveries within the kiosk
Designated room for referee/first aid functions
Storage area for merchandise and for general purposes
3 unisex standard and 1 x accessible toilets
Undercover area for spectators within the building footprint

Yulong Oval Amenities – Asphalt schedule to be applied next week followed by some fresh new line marking for parking spaces.

A major milestone this week with the project reaching ‘practical completion’. The Contractor still has some minor works to attend to prior to the facility opening, so we will be keeping the fences up next week to allow these to be completed and to help the new grass establish. Handover to the local sporting clubs for occupation is planned for later next week.

Yulong Oval Amenities – External concrete slabs continue to be installed. High bay metal screens are now being installed. Plumbing fit-off is underway with unisex basins installed. Cladding for the change room seating is being installed. Detailed excavation works for the driveway upgrade / widening works behind the building linking the front and rear car parks together are underway. Practical completion expected by the end of this month (next two weeks) weather permitting.

External concrete slabs continue to be installed. Security gates are now completely installed. High bay metal screens have been test fitted and are currently in final stages of fabrication. The last areas of tiling are underway and ready for grouting. Supports for change room seating are installed ready for cladding. Preparation for driveway upgrade / widening behind the building linking the front and rear car parks together are underway. Practical completion expected by the end of this month weather permitting.

Weather continues to impact external works, however internally more wet areas have been tiled ready for grout. A light fitting prototype has been constructed for the building signing. Soffit linings are being installed.

Materials arrived on site for the soffit lining this week. Formwork is being constructed for the storm water pits and waterproofing is being applied to the wet areas ready for tiling in the coming weeks. Wall tiling in the kitchen / canteen is under way.

Steel installation complete. Roofing installation started with the framing for the box gutter being installed. Services rough in continues.

Structural Rafters and Purlins are now in place before final tightening and necessary adjustments take place over the next week ready for the box gutter and roof cladding to be installed.
