Project overview

Tomaree Sports Complex is a vital asset to our community. The aim of this project is to expand and upgrade Don Waring Oval, build new car parks adjacent to the fields, and improve vehicle entry to the site.

Key deliverables of this project:

• Don Waring Oval will be expanded to: 2 full-size soccer pitches, 4 touch football or a larger cricket oval; the oval can also be used for youth AFL however there'll be no permanent AFL goals
• New drainage and irrigation on the fields
• Upgraded sports lighting to 300 lux capability
• Stormwater drainage
• New entry roundabout and traffic pattern
• 2 new car parks to replace parking lost with Don Waring expansion
• “Sports Walk” footpath connection through Tomaree Sports Complex with upgraded seating and park furniture
• Event Space/Market Stall area adjacent to fields
