Project overview
As part of a State Government initiative, we're undertaking pavement rehabilitation work along Medowie Road, Williamtown on the northbound lane, between Nelson Bay Road and RAAF Williamtown South Gate (Figure 1).
Details
- Referring to Figure 1, majority of the work will be on the northbound lane, between Nelson Bay Road, and RAAF, Williamtown South Gate.
- Wednesday 27 November 2024 construction crews will be on site locating underground services. No service outages as part of this work.
- From Monday 2 December 2024 road crews will be mobilising 7 am to 5 pm. There will be no work outside these hours.
- Work is expected to take two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Traffic impacts
- During construction hours, motorists should expect intermittent delays with a northbound lane closure.
- To manage the traffic flow, both northbound and southbound traffic will be directed through the same lane(s) in the opposite direction of the closed lane. This is called "contraflow traffic.
- Contraflow traffic control will allow northbound and southbound traffic through the work area.
- Outside of construction hours no work will be undertaken, traffic control will be removed and normal dual lane traffic conditions will apply.
- Access to RAAF South Gate, will be maintained at all times.
