Project overview

The section of Medowie Road heading south from Blueberry Road to the recently upgraded intersection at Catherine McAuley Catholic College has numerous pavement failures that have been repaired over the years.

With increased traffic in the area this section of road will be subject to further traffic loadings and pavement failures.

The works include:

  • Removal of the existing road wearing course and 300mm of existing pavement.
  • Insitu stabilisation of up to 200mm of existing subbase pavement material.
  • New subsoil drains in each shoulder.
  • New 300mm thick stabilised road base pavement material.
  • New asphalt wearing course.
  • New linemarking to match the existing linemarking layout.

Traffic control

  • Construction will take place during regular weekdays and occasional Saturdays as needed to stay on schedule.
  • Single lane closures will be strategically implemented to minimise disruption during construction phases.
  • We'll maintain access to both northbound and southbound bus stops near Blueberry Rd throughout the project.
  • Traffic control personnel will be on-site to prioritise bus access and minimize delays to bus schedule.

Current works

Our asphalting contractor, Downer will be at Medowie Road on Monday 19 August.

There'll be single lane closure during work hours, with traffic controllers on-site managing the flow of traffic.

Line marking is scheduled for Tuesday 27 August.
