Project overview
Corlette Headland has been battered by severe weather over the last few years, causing extensive erosion, leading to the destruction of the highly valued Corlette Headland Boardwalk.
The boardwalk provides locals and tourists a unique perspective of the Port Stephens coastline and allows pedestrians to safely traverse the Corlette Headland while also preserving its environmental integrity. The aim of this project is to reinstate safe pedestrian thoroughfare of the Corlette Headland boardwalk.
Objectives:
- Demolition of existing boardwalk infrastructure and waste removal
- Construction of new trail steps, hand rails and existing damaged path steps
- General path clean up and improvements
Current works
The walking trail will be closed from Wednesday 29 to Friday 31 January as we install a handrail along a steep decline section of the walking trail.
