Project overview

This project, approved by the NSW Independent Planning Commission in July 2020, will provide a safe and convenient route for pedestrians and cyclists.

The $4 million project is funded by Hanson Construction Materials Pty Ltd as part of the Voluntary Planning Agreement with Port Stephens Council, which was endorsed at the ordinary Council meeting on Tuesday 11 June 2024.

The works include:

  • Construction of a shared path along the western side of Brandy Hill Drive stretching approximately 4.4km and offering a generous 2.1 meters of width.

The construction work of the new path is expected to begin from the Seaham Road intersection and is scheduled to take approximately 35 weeks to complete, weather permitting.

  • Design and installation of informal bus bays, enhancing public transport accessibility. The construction / improvement of the existing informal bus bays will occur at the following locations:
    • Seaham Road, opposite Sophia Jane Drive
    • Warrigal Close
    • Neika Close
    • Tandara close

Works on the bus bays will begin in mid-July at the Seaham Road bus bay site opposite Sophia Jane Drive.
