Images will be selected on how they can celebrate the uniqueness of Nelson Bay. They can reflect the draft cultural zone for Nelson Bay which is Vibrant Coastal. The wording accompanying the draft cultural zone for Nelson Bay can be used to help collate images including: Zone 10: Vibrant Coastal Fingal Bay, Shoal Bay, Nelson Bay, Corlette, Salamander Bay, Soldier’s Point.

This zone hugs the mouth of one of the world’s most intricate, complex and truly stunning Marine Parks. The vibrancy of the marine ecosystem is an attraction to tourists the world over. Colour, movement and activity reflect this zone during holidays seasons, whilst it assumes a fishing village feel in the cooler months. Artists’ works that are chosen will enter into a Deed of Release for the image, leaving ownership and copyright with the artist, but giving permission for Council to use the image in social media, marketing
and promotional purposes. A fee will also be paid to the artist for the use of the image. For more information please contact Community Development and Engagement on 4980 0255. To register your artwork, please provide a sample photograph of your artwork to: jennifer.underwood@portstephens.nsw.gov.au
