Proposed one-way street, Trumpeter Circuit, Corlette

Image of proposed one way street proposal

Port Stephens Council is proposing to change a narrow section of Trumpeter Circuit, Corlette to one-way traffic only.

Project details

The proposal consists of changing the road arrangement from two-way traffic to one-way traffic between numbers 25 - 29 Trumpeter Circuit, Corlette to improve safety of road users and residents.

Background
Community concerns have been raised by local residents about the safety of road usage at a section of Trumpeter Circuit, Corlette.

Key concerns are that there is inadequate room for two vehicles to pass each other at this section of the road which is narrower than other sections of Trumpeter Circuit.
There have also been reports of near misses involving vehicles that travel on the less wide sections of the street.

As a result of the community concerns, Port Stephens Local Traffic Committee representatives from Council, Local Members of NSW Parliament, Police and Roads & Maritime Services (RMS) requested that Council consult with the local community regarding the proposal of establishing one-way traffic flow between numbers 25 -29 Trumpeter Circuit to improve the safety of the road for residents.
