At its meeting held on 28 October 2025, Minute No. 239, Council resolved to place the planning proposal for 19 Gan Gan Road, Anna Bay (Lot 292 DP 880755) on public exhibition before considering whether to send it to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for a Gateway determination.

The planning proposal seeks to amend the Port Stephens Local Environmental Plan 2013 to rezone the subject land from RU2 Rural Landscape to E3 Productivity Support and C2 Environmental Conservation zone to enable light industrial uses and conservation outcomes subject to a future development application.

At the same meeting, Council also resolved to hold a community workshop with representatives from local community interest groups during the public exhibition period in relation to the proposal.

We will also be covering the specific flooding and drainage and environmental constraints of the site.

We will also seek community input as part of this public exhibition process to help inform a review of the existing Anna Bay strategy.
